Minutes of the May 2nd Meeting read by Karen MacKenzie
Changes or Omissions to the Minutes.  Pat Yonkman noted that the Bannock Baking at O’Keefe’s Ranch is a Demonstration not a Contest on June 23rd.  Change made to the May 2nd Minutes.

Correspondence: The club has been asked by Indi Gems out of Alberta to participate in the Kelowna Gem Show on June 16th and 17th to do a teach to Pan Booth.  Unfortunately due to short notice we are unable to provide volunteers for this event.  Contact will be made to arrange for next year’s show as it is a good opportunity for the Club to get some exposure.

Pat commended the Executive for the success of the BC Open Gold Panning Championships.
Kim Creed Presented Ernie Erickson with a Beautiful Framed Photo he took of Kalamalka Lake for his Retirement as President of the Vernon Placer Miner’s Club.
Kim also presented the Club with a Photo Album of photos he had taken at the BC Open Gold Panning Championships.
Kim also took many photos at the BC Open and brought copies for the Members to take home.
BC Open News: It was a huge success.  Thank You to all who came and made it a success.

Special Thank You to Linda Tkaczyk and Brenda Morrison for the Delicious Lunches.
Denis is putting in new fencing around the games area and the ground will be leveled off for next year.
With the BC Open done and all bills paid a motion was put forward (by not sure who?) to pay Louie Yonkman and Ernie Erickson the balance owing on the C Can.

Gold Needed, Jerry’s Competition Gold is good but we need gold for Learn to Pan for Lumby Days, Okeefe’s Ranch and Treasures in the Sand.  We will also need nuggets for prizes and trophies for 2018 Season and BC Open Championships.
Ernie has asked Merv to get in touch with Val to purchase some of the gold as soon as possible.
C Can Clean Up: Ice Cream Buckets Burlap Sacking and Old Papers need to be dealt with.

Lumby Days: Ted Turner is bringing his truck for the Parade and Cal Olsson is bringing his Rocker Box.  Camping available, Circle the Wagons or just come for the Day.

Dry Camp by donation.  Easy Access to the Thompson River for Panning.  Yes there is Gold Here.
Treasures In the Sand, Penticton: Evening of September 8th and All Day September 9th.  Learn to Pan will be offered.  Contact Michael MacKenzie at babych@shaw.ca or http://othc.info/treasures-in-the-sand.php.  Volunteers Needed to help Michael also anyone wishing to enter the Metal Detecting Competitions see website for registration.  Big Prizes to be won.
Clean Up/Picnic: September 22-23 to be held at Pat and Louie Yonkman’s Property.  Camping by donation to the Porta Potty Fund.  Creek Access for the Clean Up.  Bring your Equipment and have fun.
