General Membership Meeting of the Vernon Placer Miners Club
Met February 4, 2026 at the Hall at 1204 30th Ave, Vernon BC, President Mike McKenzie opened the meeting at 7:15 PM. Note-taker was Cal Olsson. 18 members were in attendance including guest Brian Murphy. Robin Jenner moved minutes be accepted as read, seconded by Ken Montie, voted on and passed.

Yearly dues are due in December. Dues are $20.00 per year per family.

Old Business Arising out of Last Meeting’s Minutes
Price of gold going sky high means have to double price of tickets for door prize nugget is double. (at least for this evening). Gold 221.00 $C a gram.
New Business:
1. Louie Yonkman moved we do the Lumby Days Learn to Pan event in June if we are asked by Lumby. Seconded by Kowyn Hibbert. Discussed , voted on and passed.
2. Brent Zvonarich moved we have a pizza night at next club meeting paid for from club coffers. Seconded by Karen McKenzie. Details logistics etc discussed, voted on and passed.
3. Rick moved that the political liason and information committee report, starting next meeting, be given in with the meeting proper rather than after the adjournment.Seconded by Don Sheshevski. Discussed voted on and passed.
Presentation
Ken Montie demonstrated, using his coin collection and gold panning collection as well as a scale and magnet, how much the jump in price of gold and silver means in real value.
