General Membership Meeting of the Vernon Placer Miners Club Met june 3, 2025 at the Hall at 1204 30th Ave, Vernon BC, President Mike McKenzie opened the meeting at 7:002 PM. Note taker was Cal Olsson. 11 members were in attendance. Attila Vasarhelyi moved that minutes of last meeting be accepted as read. Seconded by Rick Peterson.Discussed; voted on and passed by show of hands.
Correspondence (by Donna Smith): Email from Peace Lutheran Church giving an e-transfer address so rent could be paid digitally. President Mike Mckenzie received voice mail from Enderby RV Park asking that old trailer be removed from the park . They were alright with leaving the sea can there. Seems they think that something from the club is still at the works yard though?
Membership Report by Brenda Morrison: 17 families are currently paid up members in good standing. 14 Life timers in good standing 5 Honorary members in good standing.. Yearly dues are due in December. Dues are $20.00 per year per family.

Old Business Arising out of Last Meeting’s Minutes: President Mike thanked all members who brought savory dishes to the Enderby potluck last May long weekend, making it a wonderfull dinner. The Fun Days were a lot of fun, lets do it again!
New Business: 1. Donna Smith moved that as Jack Perry and Esther do a wonderful job of providing live music for our ( none of that AI crap) may long weekend fun days; and they come all the way from Quesnel: that we isssue them a $100.00 honorarium.Seconded by Rick Peterson . Discussed , voted on and passed. 2. Attila Vasarhelyi has , once again volunteered to show up to help with the learn to pan event at the Lumby Days on June 13,14 and 15. Thanks Attila! Presentation 1. Donna gave a third party endorsement to a pain medication that she has tried,”Pain be Gone” thanks to Attila. 2. A story by Mike about a mind boggling stash of gold and silver coins (some antique) that a metal detecting friend of his found buried under the sundeck of a house. The pictures were amazing. 3. Louie Yonkman almost topped Mikes story with one about a diesel massey harris tractor he sold to a neighbour who paid him with a roll of freshly unearthed,very, very ,very old twenty dollar bills. 4. Kim Creed told us about his 3 day prospecting expedition to the Nanimo River. On June 21st he’s heading to the yukon where there is even bigger gold. 5. Yes we tell stories, but only true ones. Announcements. 1. Kim Creed is picking up a new lotto ticket for members part of the ‘Gold Diggers’ group. 2. Louie Yonkman suggested that he, or someone with an aluminum fire pit bring it to next years may long weekend fun days.
